about

The 20 year dystopian simulation we have come to refer to as 2020 is coming to and end, and here's a label sampler to mark the occasion.

Proceeds from the sales of this sampler are being donated to the DRKMTTR Collective here in Nashville, TN. They are the city’s only all ages DIY music venue, currently serving as a community resource center. drkmttrcollective.com

A humble bow and deep gratitude to Dave from Cardinal Fuzz for his guidance, collaboration, and hard work. Much love to you.

Hugs and appreciation to all of the artists that I've worked with over the past couple of years. Thank you for placing your faith in Centripetal Force and helping my vision come to fruition.

A huge thank you to all who have supported the label. I can't do this without you, especially those of you whose names I see multiple times a year on shipping labels. Seriously. Thank you.

released December 4, 2020

White Manna's "Mythic Salon" is taken from their album 'ARC', released seven years ago this past August (CF.09).*

The Nashville Ambient Ensemble will be releasing 'Cerulean' on Centripetal Force in March of 2021. "Elegy [Redux]" was self-released by the group earlier this year. Their lineup is made up of some of Nashville's most innovative musicians, many of whom are part of what Bandcamp refers to as the "Weird New South." Members include Michael Hix, Luke Schneider, Cynthia Cárdenas, Deli Neblett (Diatom Deli), Jack Silverman, Kim Rueger (Belly Full Of Stars), and Timon Kaple. (CF.12).

Elkhorn's "Neowise" was part of limited edition lathe cut 5" record that accompanied the album 'The Acoustic Storm Sessions', released five years ago this past October (CF.07).*

Jim McHugh's take on "Class War" (originally by The Dils) is previously unreleased. 2020 saw Jim record three digital EPs for Centripetal Force, all of which were benefits for a number of nonprofit organizations, including Black Lives Matter (New York and Nashville), Reclaim the Block, Southerners on New Ground, Southern Workers Assembly, and Marquita Bradshaw's campaign for US Senate. Proceeds totalled more than one thousand dollars. Expect more from this collaboration.

The untitled track from Gerycz / Powers / Rolin is previously unreleased and will be a part of a vinyl edition of 'Beacon', the trio's much lauded 2020 cassette release on Garden Portal. The album is scheduled for a February release and is a collaboration with Cardinal Fuzz in the UK (CF.13).*

This version of Prana Crafter's "Beggars Tomb" is a chopped up and remixed excerpt taken from 'No Ear to Hear', a split album release with ragenap, released 17 years ago this past March (CF.06).*

"Noah Black Ark" was written by jazz saxophonist Arthur Doyle. This remixed and remastered version by Sunwatchers was originally released on a flexi-disk that came with the band's self titled album on Castle Face. Sunwatchers and Centripetal Force are working on a collection of odds and ends that will be released in mid 2021. (CF.04).

ragenap's "Is A Nod as Good as a Wink to a Blind Horse?" is a previously unreleased track, originally recorded and performed by Joel Berk for William Sol's (Prana Crafter) Masters thesis on improvisational theory. Seventeen years ago this past March, ragenap and Prana Crafter released the vinyl edition of their Robert Hunter tribute, 'No Ear to Hear' (CF.06).*

Little is known about Perhaps. Internet sleuthing points to cult connections, and correspondence with the group is relegated to random bursts in the late hours of the night, usually via ham radio transmissions. This excerpt from "Mad Smiles" sets the stage for what's in store for Centripetal Force in 2021, a split album release with an artist that we can't quite reveal yet.

Dire Wolves' "Deep Sunrise Energy" was pulled from 'I Just Wasn't Made for these Set Times', released eighteen years ago this past February (CF.05).

Mugstar's "Zeta Potential" is from 'GRAFT', an album released four years ago this past October. The vinyl is sold out at the label but can still be found at midheaven.com/item/graft-by-mugstar (CF.08).*

Tambourinen's "Wollensak" was originally released on the cassette edition of 'Wooden Flower' on Avant Unity before being picked up for vinyl release by Centripetal Force and Cardinal Fuzz. Vinyl copies are sold out at the label but can still be procured at tambourinen.bandcamp.com/releases and midheaven.com/item/wooden-flower-by-tambourinen (CF.10 ).*
